About Boutique Femade
Boutique Femade is a boutique in Chambly, Quebec, founded by Paola Ramírez, born in Colombia and emigrated to Canada in 2019, selling bags and accessories handmade by Colombian women artisans. Its showroom welcomes visitors by appointment at 1481 A Avenue de Gentilly and its pieces are also sold at markets and pop-ups around Montréal.
Its emblematic product is the Wayuu mochila bag, hand-crocheted by women of the Wayuu community of La Guajira, alongside handmade jewelry and accessories by women artisans from different regions of Colombia, such as Medellín, Sucre and Bogotá.
Femade works through fair-trade purchases to improve the artisans' lives and preserve the know-how of Colombian women, combining traditional Wayuu designs with modern models designed in Quebec for city life.
