About Carnaval de Barranquilla en Canadá
Carnaval de Barranquilla en Canadá is the organization that brings the spirit of the Barranquilla Carnival — Colombia's most important folk festival — to Colombian communities in Canada, with its main events based in Montreal.
The organization crowns its own Carnival Royals in Canada and opens the season with the Gran Noche de Guacherna, with the reading of the bando, folk music and dances, like the one held on February 7, 2026 in Montreal.
Recognized by the Carnival organization in Barranquilla, which sent its Queen to Montreal in 2023, it also co-organizes Colombian independence celebrations, such as the Ottawa-Gatineau one in July 2026.
